Wildcats Run 3rd at CCOC Invitational
GENEVA, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men's Cross Country team placed 3rd out of 13 teams on Saturday at the CCOC Invitational in Geneva, NY. With an average finish of 29:37 at the 8k affair, the Wildcats trailed only Hartwick College (28:49) and Clarkson University, who garnered the top spot with an average race time of 28:03.
Senior standout Robert Doss (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) turned in yet another top-notch performance for the 'Cats, finishing the race in fourth-place overall with a time of 27:52. Close behind was sophomore Chris Wicks (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) who turned in a time of 28:57, good for 11th place.
Capping off the scoring five for the Wildcats were sophomore Dylan Parry (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville), at 30:09 (32nd), freshman Cody Russell at 30:20 (40th), and senior Steve Gagnier (Croghan, NY/Beaver River) with a time of 30:47 (49th).
The men won't return to the course again until October 29th for the NEAC Championships, to be hosted at SUNY Cobleskill. Race time is TBA.
